Performance of scientific and research tasks is based on the long-term prognosis and academic orientation of the university, the faculties and the Institute and includes the areas of agricultural, forestry, biological, economic, technical and pedagogical sciences. The university research plan follows current developments in basic scientific disciplines, particularly biology, and their application in practice. These developments involve regulation of biological processes, effective use of non-renewable energy resources and creation of renewable resources while developing sustainable multifunctional agriculture and agribusiness and management of educational process of training university graduates with special pedagogic competence in accordance with the latest knowledge and trends in Europe and the Czech Republic. The quality and safety of agricultural products and food in particular are accented. In accordance with conclusions of EU's Common Agricultural Policy, the university prefers topics of multifunctional agriculture and forestry.
